Clinton Tapped for NABEF Award

Former President Bill Clinton will be presented with the NAB Educational Foundation's American Leadership Award on June 12. The occasion is the NABEF's eight annual Service to America Gala in Washington.

Since leaving office in 2000, Clinton has been active in humanitarian efforts, including world health initiatives and fundraising for hurricane and tsunami victims. He also has served as co-chair of the Families of Freedom Fund, which has raised more than $100 million for scholarships going to families of those killed or injured in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

"President Clinton has dedicated his life to public service in the role of Governor, President and now as a tireless leader in global humanitarian relief efforts," said David K. Rehr, NAB President and CEO, "The NAEB Educational Foundation is proud to honor him for his service to the United States and to the world."

Other recent recipients of the award include First Lady Laura Bush, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, former President Jimmy Carter, former First Lady Nancy Reagan and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
