AVerMedia Unleashes AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX USB ATSC Tuner

AVerMedia said its AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX USB ATSC tuner stick is now available at a suggested retail price of $79.99 The tuner won a technology innovation award at CES 2008.
It’s able to receive ATSC, ClearQAM, analog TV and FM radio signals. It also supports real-time H.264 compression, reducing CPU loading and the amount of hard disk space needed for recordings. The AVerMedia press release did not specify the tuner and demodulator chips used in the Hybrid Volar MAX.
