Ascent Media uses the 3040P-L playlist playout controller from DNF Controls for its NFL Sunday Ticket and ESPN GamePlan productions. Ascent uses 15 of the devices to conveniently insert commercials and local feature shows tailored to the teams playing in each game.
The DNF Controls 3040P-L controller is a PC-based controller that can be used with any text editor to create a playlist, which is transferred to the 3040P-L using a serial connection. The system combines DNF's ST400 controller with a large LCD display and playlist software, and can control up to five simultaneous channels. A total of 2,000 elements can be controlled from a single 3040P-L controller.
