Front Porch Digital installs HD archive for VOOM HD networks

Front Porch Digital (FPD), the broadcast and media division of Incentra Solutions, has announced completion of a new DIVArchive installation dedicated to the high-definition content of VOOM HD Networks, a service available nationally on the DISH Network.

The high-capacity DIVArchive system will enable VOOM, a subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings, to manage storage of the network’s library of high-definition program content. Front Porch said it is the only archive management provider capable of delivering the performance characteristics and scalability that are critical to the HD operating environment.

The transaction was completed as part of the five-year exclusive contract signed in 2003 between Front Porch and Rainbow Media Holdings, a subsidiary of Cablevision. The company’s VOOM HD Networks channels include movies, sports, music, travel, fashion, the arts, cartoons and news — all in high-definition.

DIVArchive (Distributed Intelligent Versatile Archive) is a software middleware that enables interoperability between large digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital media workflow applications in the broadcast, media and entertainment industries. DIVArchive simplifies the process of preserving, managing and accessing content.
