Covering everything “from content creation and origination to transmission and reception,” the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society plans to highlight media delivery technologies at its upcoming forum next month.
Taking place Oct. 27–28 in Washington, D.C., the IEEE BTS Broadcast Technology Forum will be held at the National Association of Broadcasters headquarters.

For radio-focused attendees, technical program offerings we spotted of interest include sessions on studio-to-transmitter links, hybrid radio tools, AM synchronous boosters and liquid cooling for high-powered transmitters.
Bob Weller, vice president for spectrum policy at NAB, and Guy Bouchard, vice president of IEEE BTS, are co-chairing the event. The forum is the result of an evolution from the former IEEE Broadcast Symposium, which was last held in 2023.
“The format of the forum is pretty much the same as the old symposium,” Weller told Radio World. “But the forum is intended to be less formal, with no proceedings and more open discussion and Q&A.”
Weller added that IEEE BTS was able to reduce attendance costs for this year’s gathering. Early-bird pricing is available through Sept. 27.
The schedule features a joint luncheon with the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and the BTS Awards luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 28, where Charlie Einolf will receive the 2025 Jules Cohen Award for Outstanding Broadcast Engineering.
