Tektronix recently announced enhancements to its VM5000 video analyzer to improve measurement of signals for DTV broadcasting and reception. Available as options, these enhancements help identify component signal impairments in display and playout devices, including amplitude, timing, noise, frequency response, nonlinearity and transient response.
The enhancement adds standard-definition capability to the Tektronix VM5000HD analyzer, permitting SD and HD measurement in a single unit. The device works with both NTSC and PAL signals, as well as 720p, 1080i and 1080p high-definition signals. A built-in high-performance oscilloscope is part of each VM5000 system.
