Ross Synergy Switcher Controls Shotoku Robot Heads

Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a Japan-based developer of advanced camera support gear, says that it recently completed the first ever integration of the company's TR-8T robotic camera control panel with the Ross Video Synergy switcher. The configuration was completed for TVSN, an Australian home shopping channel.

TVSN wants to use existing joystick and controls on a Ross Synergy 3 SD switcher panel to robotically position cameras mounted on Shotoku pan and tilt heads. Engineers from both companies collaborated to design the interface between the two separate systems. The combination of the two technologies not only saves control room space; it also puts both switcher and robotic camera positioning within reach of a single operator and eliminates a separately located robotic camera control panel.
