Path 1 to Use Public Internet as Broadcast Video Gateway
By TVTechnology published
Path 1 Network Technologies has announced its plan to use public Internet infrastructure as a network for broadcast video.
Path 1 has launched two products that support this initiative--the Vx8000 2.0, a multiport, bi-directional, IP video gateway that combines standards and proprietary-based forward error correction (FEC) technologies for live broadcast applications, and NET, an evaluation and analysis tool that enables network administrators to determine the condition of IP networks and their ability to transport video.
Broadcast and teleport companies--LBiSat, PCM and RTVi, among others--have selected Path 1's products to transport broadcast video worldwide.
