A new platform that uses software to replicate all of the functions of a broadcast master control and play-out chain will be introduced byOmniBus Systems at NAB2006.
OmniBus iTX is a single software application that acts as a video server, master control, and graphics and logo inserter with automation, ingest, editing, and basic content management. iTX integrates with video or IT storage to manage video files and can be deployed on its own, or with any existing automation suite.
iTX can mix DV, MPEG-1 through MPEG-4, AVI and WMV formats freely and will scale incoming media of any resolution to the appropriate output format, enabling SD and HD content to be mixed on the same playlist. Files can be ingested from tape or line using a real-time encode into a Windows Media file, or delivered to the server as a new file. Content also may be sourced directly from an existing broadcast server or any industry-standard editor.
iTX is available with PCs optimized with the latest AMD chipsets, as well as modifications that maximize bandwidth use and real-time video processing.
OmniBus will also launch OPUS News & Sports Logging, an integrated set of tools that enables fast and intuitive logging of live and recorded events. With fast one-button-press news logging using configurable events buttons, and intuitive on-screen control of live and prerecorded feeds, OPUS can recall, sort, and access content across multiple systems.
Also new is the OmniBus K2 Inception, an entry-level one-to-six channel play-out solution designed for the Grass Valley IT-based K2 storage system. The scalable solution package includes the preconfigured hardware and software system, delivery, training, and the first year of technical support services.
OmniBus will also show the latest versions of OmniBus Colossus and OPUS Content Management and Workflow suite.
