To mark the 40th anniversary of the U 87 microphone, Neumann is asking audio engineers, musicians and other users to share their U 87 memories.
The contest, dubbed "U 87 and You," asks users to submit a 30 second or shorter video recounting their associations and experiences with the U 87 to My-U87-Message@Neumann.com by 31 December 2007.
The 87 entries judged "most interesting" will be entered into a drawing for a special prize.
The anniversary is also be marked by the release of the U 87 Anniversary Set.
"This is something which collectors, fans, and all those who have ever dreamed of owning a U 87 can look forward to; it is an exclusive version with unique product features," stated Wolfgang Fraissinet, president of marketing and sales for Neumann Berlin.
