MRC introduces dual diversity digital microwave receiver

The Microwave Radio Communications MDR-2 is a portable, 2GHz/5GHz dual diversity digital microwave receiver that can be rapidly deployed to cover sports, news and outside broadcasts from ground locations, the air or from a moving vehicle.

The dual diversity receiver is well suited for use as a companion to a camera-mounted COFDM transmitter. The MDR-2 diversity system uses the latest maximal ratio combining technology to optimize the quality and useable range of the transmitted signal.

In a typical diversity receiver system, two omnidirectional antennas are connected to two separate low noise block down converters (LNB) via cable or direct N-Type connectors. Both LNBs are then connected by coaxial cable to the MDR-2 UHF input ports.
