Monsoon Multimedia has added support for Windows Mobile to its HAVA line of video streaming, place- and time-shifting devices, enabling users to view and control their home TVs from a Windows Mobile-enabled phone or handheld computer.
Supporting the Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition and Smartphone, HAVA for Windows Mobile enables full remote control and channel-changing capabilities of most TV sources, including cable, satellite, DVD and TiVo. It streams MPEG-4 video to Windows Mobile-based devices with screen resolutions of 640 x 480, 320 x 240 and 240 x 240 pixels, in landscape or portrait mode. Connections supported include WiFi, EvDO, UMTS (3G), USB tethering and Bluetooth. Remote access to the HAVA device is available.
