Miranda to Launch New Version of Master Control Glass Cockpit

Miranda is introducing an HD/SD version of its "Master Control Glass Cockpit" at NAB2003 The new version of Cockpit, which simplifies the control and monitoring of multiple transmission channels, is based on an HD/SD version of the Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processor, an HD/SD version of the Presmaster 2 multi-channel master control switcher and the iControl Web remote video infrastructure monitoring system.

The focal point of the Master Control Glass Cockpit is the Kaleido-K2 high-res virtual monitor wall processor, which lets operators perform multi-step monitoring of multiple video and audio signals as they pass from master control to transmission. Kaleido-K2 can accept up to 32 HD, SD, composite, VGA and off-air streaming video inputs and up to 48 stereo AES/EBU audio inputs. It can monitor VBI and MPEG-2 status, source identifiers and tallies, time of day and external equipment status.

The Kaleido-K2 interfaces with the Oxtel Series Presmaster 2 multi-channel master control switcher. When the switcher operator selects another transmission channel, the K2 reconfigures the monitoring display to present the video sources most relevant to the new channel under control. All of the Presmaster 2's video and audio processing functions are performed by Oxtel Series Imagestore HD/SD automated master control and channel branding systems.

A graphical representation is given by the iControl Web remote video and infrastructure monitoring system. It operates with Miranda's Imaging and Densite interfacing and distribution systems, the Aquila upconverter, the Kaleido-K2 multi-image processor and the Imagestore master control and channel branding system, all of which is connected over TCP-IP networks.
