JDSU Unveils Digital and IP Video Service Monitoring System at NAB2006

JDSU will have its portfolio of digital and IP video test solutions on display at NAB2006, including its recently introduced Digital and IP Video Service Monitoring System that can provide round-the-clock, simultaneous monitoring of more than 250 video streams, as well as test access coverage at all points in the network.

The system also monitors numerous interfaces and streams, including GigE, ASI, QAM, QPSK, 8VSB and COFDM. The system is comprised of the new QT-1100 Digital Video Service Monitor, Digital Video Service Monitoring Server and Digital Video Service Monitoring Probes. These new additions extend the company's Trustream line of digital video testing equipment.

Its centralized monitoring with remote testhead maintenance capabilities, coupled with the DTS-330 and 200, provide the ability to examine and troubleshoot all transport streams carried inside a digital broadcast network. Once the remotely deployed QT-1100 test head detects a service problem, a fault alarm is generated and forwarded to the centralized monitoring software system. When the fault is verified, an operator can maintain a steady flow of operation by using either the DTS-330 or DTS-200 to perform in-depth analysis and troubleshooting to help resolve the problem.

"JDSU is proud to launch an industry first at NAB2006," said Kevin Oliver, vice president of marketing for the Cable Networks business unit of JDSU's Test and Measurement Group. "With the introduction of the new
Digital and IP Video Service Monitoring System, the entire transmission of digital and IP video can be managed, monitored and analyzed in real-time from the moment it enters the network all the way to the edge."

JDSU is in Booth SU4201.
