DVEO to unveil DBV-S/S2-to-IP gateway at IBC2008
By TVTechnology published
DVEO, the broadcast division of CMI, will introduce its DVB-S/S2-to-IP gateway for IPTV at IBC2008 Sept. 12-16 in Amsterdam.
Designed for broadcasting, IPTV and telco TV, OnRamp IP/Sat simultaneously receives transport streams from one or more satellite transponders, different satellites, cable channels or terrestrial channels, and outputs them to an IP network.
The resulting streams can be viewed with standard IP capable set-top boxes or streaming video software clients such as VLC or MPlayer. The Linux-based unit also has the optional capability to transcode streams into H.264 format up to a maximum combined bit rate of 6Mb/s. The system supports MPEG-2 and H.264 input and output in SD and HD format, and transcoded H.264 output as an option.
