Cinegy shows RTP-based routing, monitoring
By TVTechnology published
Cinegy unveiled Cinegy Connect & Route at the recent NAB Show. The product is capable of converting SD and HD-SDI signals into broadcast-quality, low-latency RTP streams. Cinegy Connect & Route, which can function as a stand-alone system or can be used as an adjunct to Cinegy’s broadcast workflow solution Cinegy Workflow, enables broadcasters to reduce their reliance on expensive SDI infrastructure in favor of RTP-based Ethernet networks offering greater capacity, enhanced flexibility, higher quality and lower cost.
Cinegy Connect & Route is designed, in part, for broadcast operations that receive a large number of satellite feeds. The new product has the ability to directly capture feeds from satellite receivers and transfer them to an Ethernet network for editing, archiving or playout without further transcoding.
Cinegy Connect & Route also can ingest SD and HD-SDI streams from any standard playback device and encode them as RTP streams at speeds up to 100Mb/s. Once on the network, the streams are available for logging, editing, branding and other production activities, as well as immediate playout, all in real time and without additional transcoding.
