Canopus Supporting Adobe Premiere Pro

Canopus Corp. announced support for Adobe Premiere Pro with its DVStorm2 and DVRaptor RT2 advanced real-time editing solutions, continuing its efforts to boost productivity for video professionals.

In addition to the advanced features found in Adobe Premiere Pro (including a streamlined interface, multiple nestable timelines and powerful new audio controls), Canopus NLE customers will keep the exceptional render-free editing capabilities they are accustomed to with DVStorm2 and DVRaptor RT2. Both feature Canopus's high-quality hardware DV codec chip that relieves the system's CPU from Adobe Premiere Pro's software-based DV renderer, leaving more CPU power available for real-time effects processing.

"DVStorm2 and DVRaptor RT2 are perfect companions for Adobe Premiere Pro software," said Richard Townhill, group product manager for Premiere at Adobe. "Canopus has a made a name for itself with its advanced video processing capabilities, which when combined with Adobe Premiere Pro, provides users with a first-rate real-time editing experience."

"Adobe has taken Premiere to the extreme with Premiere Pro," said Robert Sharp, GM of the Sales and Marketing Division of Canopus. "Premiere Pro has been reengineered with an approach that delivers a wealth of features now and shows great potential for the future."

DVStorm2 and DVRaptor RT2 deliver simultaneous render-free DV and analog video output, five simultaneous real-time video tracks in DVStorm and three in DVRaptor RT2, unlimited simultaneous real-time title and graphics layers, video filters, audio filters and 2D and 3D transition groups, along with full YUV 4:2:2 editing and processing.

Canopus will offer Adobe Premiere Pro as a software bundle option to DVStorm2 and DVRaptor RT2 later this summer.
