VertigoXMedia is now shipping the field-upgradable VxScaler module that enables its VertigoXG graphics system to provide simultaneous HD/SD output from a single box for simplified production.
The VertigoXG broadcast graphics system allows users to create data-driven, templated graphics in HD and SD, and with VxScaler, the graphics system can downconvert an HD source to SD, upconvert SD to HD, capture an SD source as an HD clip for inclusion in an HD project, and capture an HD source for a clip in SD or another standard. VxScaler features motion estimation, de-interlacing and scaling at 10-bit 4:2:2.
