AVerMedia Technologies Inc., a digital multimedia company based in Milpitas, Calif., has released the AVerTV USB MCE, an external hi-speed USB 2.0 TV tuner. The portable tuner allows people to watch, pause, rewind, playback and record live TV through Windows Media Center 2005 to their desktop or laptop.
"The addition of this new external MCE certified TV tuner to the already robust TV tuner product offering increases AVerMedia's position as a 'one-stop-shop' for virtually any requirement," said Dominic Wong, technical marketing manager for AVerMedia. "The AVerTV USB MCE is a comprehensive, yet easy to install and use solution for the latest MCE 2005 laptops and desktops."
The AVerTV USB MCE features MPEG-2 compression, image and video capture capability, a recording scheduler to pre-set recording of shows and it is compatible with all third-party video editing software. The product can also be used as a secondary tuner and when used in conjunction with an internal or another external tuner, allowing the operator to watch one program while recording another simultaneously or use the MCE picture-in-picture features.
