AJA Video Systems, a Grass Valley, Calif.-based manufacturer of distribution and interface products, recently received Apple Computer's stamp of approval on the AJA Io FireWire interface for use with Apple's Final Cut Pro HD software. Using the Io interface with an Apple Power Mac G4 or G5 computer, a user can edit HD video with multichannel audio and get the signals in and out of the computer using its FireWire port.
The AJA Io features 10-bit uncompressed video and 24-bit multichannel audio, and it connects to a Power Mac G4 or G5 with a single FireWire connector. Final Cut Pro HD is Apple's popular high-end editing and finishing software.
