Alfacam installs TSL Audio monitors for 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup

Alfacam, the Belgium-based provider of TV facilities and services for sports production, has purchased several PAM1-3G8 professional audio monitors from TSL Professional Products Group to cover the FIFA Confederations Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa, June 14-28.

The sale, coordinated through TSL distributor Erudict Media Solutions, has enabled Alfacam to fully equip a complete outside broadcast system in multiple racks that were wired in Belgium, disassembled and shipped to South Africa, and reassembled at Standard Bank Arena, Ellis Park, Johannesburg, for the Confederations Cup event.

TSL’s PAM1-3G8 monitors were installed at four crucial control positions within Alfacam’s system to monitor the video and meter multiple audio channels of embedded, AES and analog audio signals.

The Alfacam system will also serve as a test setup for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, also taking place in South Africa. Following this year’s Confederations Cup, the PAM1-3G8 units will be used for control in technical equipment rooms for a variety of Alfacam TV channels including EXQI Sport, EXQI Culture and Euro1080.

The PAM1-3G8 is a rack-mounted monitoring unit that features OLED displays for data and metering. TSL’s Precision Audio Monitor range includes dual 3Gb/s HD/SDI video inputs, Dolby D/E decoding and a range of advanced features.
