A. Avid is in the business of transformation – from analogue to digital, linear tape-based to nonlinear file-based, SD to HD and single user to collaborative workgroups – we provide the expertise and solutions to help broadcasters become more efficient and stay relevant in the multiplatform world. Avid has the expertise to bridge the gap between traditional broadcasting and IT-based technology, enabling broadcasters to quickly bring on new services for the Web, mobile phones and other developing distribution platforms.

Q. What’s new that you will show at NAB2007 and that broadcasters should look for there?

A. We will be showing complete workflow solutions suitable for broadcasters and content producers of all sizes based around our ISIS shared storage and Interplay Media asset management systems. We’ll show advancements to our product lines in news, editing, on-air graphics, play-out, storage, automation and workgroups, and we will be focusing on our ease of integration with other manufacturers.

Q. How is your new product offering different from what’s available on the market?

A. Avid is entirely focused on broadcasters and the media production value chain. We understand our customers’ workflows, their competitive landscape and their business challenges. We develop solutions that resolve the complex business issues everyone is grappling with; from benchmarking and consulting through to the supply, delivery, installation and management of technology; Avid is a tried-and-trusted business partner.

Q. Where are you based, and how many employees do you have? Anything else we should know about your company?

A. Avid Technology is based in Tewksbury, Mass. and has approximately 2,800 employees worldwide.
