Vendor News: VCI Volunteers

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.: VCI Solutions is adding houses to the list of its creations. The traffic-and-billing software concern is volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, having joined its first project in Monson, Mass. VCI employees are working the not-for-profit on a three-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath home to be completed later this year. The Greater Springfield Habitat chapter they’re working with has completed homes for 33 families locally and 79 families internationally since it was chartered in 1987.

“We are continually looking for new ways and events that provide us with an opportunity to make a positive impact in the environment and community,” said Deborah MacGilvary, vice president of human resources for VCI. “We are excited to be able to work with Habitat for Humanity to make a difference in our community. At the same time these efforts not only motivate and inspire our team members, but serve as a great team-building exercise where we all work together and support one another.”

In other company news, VCI said it has formed a new customer advisory board comprising a broadcast TV station group and a cable network group. The board’s charter is to keep VCI on the right track in terms of development and provision.
