Litepanels Intros Spot/Flood LED
LOS ANGELES: Litepanels has rolled out an LED fixture capable of spot and flood focusing. The 1x1 Bi-Focus is presented as an alternative to Fresnels. Measuring one-square foot, the fixture has a cross-fading, multi-bulb configuration that allows for the adjustment between spot and flood. An optional battery pack will fire up the Bi-Focus for an hour and 45 minutes. Litepanels was acquired by The Vitec Group of Kingston upon Thames, England, last August.
Sachtler Bows Compact Fluid Head
ECHING,GERMANY: Sachtler, also a Vitec Group company, has unveiled its smallest 100 mm bowl-mount unit for its DV line of fluid heads. The DV10 SD has a 12-step counterbalance and five each horizontal and vertical levels of drag. Payload range is 2-26 pounds and tilt goes from +90 to -75 degrees. The head itself weighs 5.7 pounds.
Volicon Observes for ION
ST. PETERSBURG,FLA.: Ion Media Networks has installed a Volicon Observer system at its network operations center on the Gulf Coast. The eight-channel logging and monitoring system will be used to support regulatory compliance of the group’s new HD channels. The system doesn’t require downconversion but accepts native HD video as well as all correlating metadata and audio channels. ION last spring deployed two-channel Observer systems at each of its 56 TV stations. Volicon, a five-year old video monitoring specialist, is located in Burlington, Mass.
