With an eye on the growing automation market, VCI Solutions is here at the NAB Show with its autoXe MC automation systems designed for both small- and large-market stations.

Eschewing the requirement that each channel have a dedicated workstation at its disposal, the autoXe MC can manage any number of channels at a single workstation and at a single screen, with all metadata stored in one location.

“We are focusing on metadata, the data that really drives the programming,” said Sarah Foss, president and CEO of VCI Solutions.

Just prior to the show, VCI announced that its automation system is now available in three distinct packages: standard, professional and premium.

The company has also placed a renewed emphasis on workflow issues, having joined the Advanced Media Workflow Association in March in an effort to “bring the industry to a new level with advanced workflows,” said Lowell Putnam, chairman and chief strategy officer of VCI Solutions.

The company is also inking new partnerships here at the NAB Show, including an agreement with Video Technics that will create an affordable bundle that includes VCI automation software and the company’s Apella SDX-MX video server to facilitate a smooth file-based workflow from content delivery to on-air playout. ©2008 NAB
