The ABC Television Network Signs Affiliation Agreement with KECY

The ABC Television Network has entered into an affiliation agreement with KECY-DT to serve the Yuma, AZ, and El Centro, CA, television market, it was announced by John Rouse, senior vice president of Affiliate Relations for ABC. The affiliation became effective on Jan. 1, 2007.

KECY is owned by Gulf California Broadcasting Co., a division of News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting. This will be News-Press & Gazette’s sixth ABC television affiliation, joining group-owned ABC affiliates in the El Paso, Palm Springs, Idaho Falls, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction markets.

The new digital channel can be viewed over-the-air through a digital signal on channel 9.2 and on Time Warner Cable channel 5 in both Yuma and Imperial Counties.

“We are very pleased to expand ABC’s coverage in the El Centro and Yuma markets by adding KECY to our station lineup. News-Press & Gazette is a terrific broadcasting company and we are thrilled to expand our relationship with them,” said Mr. Rouse.
