Tele Toulouse turns to Pinnacle Systems for digital networked production

Télé Toulouse, an affiliate of Group Lagardère, has ordered a complete networked digital production infrastructure from Pinnacle Systems for the station's new broadcast facility in Toulouse, France.

Pinnacle Systems' MediaStream 900 features up to 10 video I/O per server / over 100 channels per storage subsystem.

The installation will be the first all-digital local broadcast operation in France and will provide Télé Toulouse with an efficient workflow by integrating Pinnacle solutions for networked news, automated graphics, networked editing and content delivery.

By choosing Pinnacle, Télé Toulouse will deploy France's first completely tapeless environment with acquisition, editing, voice-over, graphics, consolidation and playout all occurring over a seamless network.

The new facility will include a Pinnacle Vortex networked news system based on Pinnacle's Palladium Store 100 shared storage server, five Vortex editing systems and two Liquid purple editing systems. In addition, the network will include a Deko 1000 character generator for graphics and a MediaStream 900 networked storage server for playout.

This combination of equipment integrated by a seamless network infrastructure means that the post-production and news editing processes can take place concurrently. The Deko character generators are automatically controlled by Vortex. Journalists select Deko graphics templates from their workstation and provide current data. MediaStream 900 ensures mission-critical playout reliability of finished material deliver automatically via the network.
