Existing Pinnacle MediaStreams users now have the option to use trade-in credits offered by Omneon when purchasing the company's new Spectrum servers.
The trade-in is comprised of an end-user buyback of up to $10,000 for every Pinnacle system replaced and returned to Omneon, a choice of the migration tool or free professional services and the conversion and transfer of up to 1000 hours of existing content to Omneon systems.
"This program is designed to make it easy for customers to move to the latest generation of open-standards server architecture," said Geoff Stedman, vice president of marketing for the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company.
Avid Technology announced last month that it plans to acquire Pinnacle Systems in a deal worth $462M.
