Norway Preps for End of Analog

Norway’s analog TV transmitters will start powering down next week, causing concern for the impact on older residents, according to Aftenposten.

A group representing elderly citizens in the country said people who have traditionally received over-the-air television now have to decide what type of digital reception device they want, in addition to selecting channel packages and using more high-tech remote controls.

Norway is affecting a graduated geographic shutdown that will take place over the course of the rest of the year.
