NBC Moves Ahead With Kostow Greenwood
By TVTechnology published
Kostow Greenwood Architects (KGA), the firm designing the new CNN New York Broadcast Center, has been awarded the NBC EJ/PVT/Designworks (Electronic Journalism/Production Video Tape/Designworks) Consolidation Project. The 25,000-square-foot project involves the renovation of the fifth floor at 30 Rock. Scheduled for completion in 2004, the undertaking will consolidate digital editing and graphics production for NBC's news and sports programs into a single centralized facility. Plans for the space call for a central control desk, nonlinear editing, online edit rooms, and a playback and ingest area. The digital graphics department, dubbing department, media library, a large equipment room, and an equipment maintenance shop will complete the space.
