National Television Academy announces Sports Emmy nominees


The 26th Annual Sports Emmy Awards will be presented May 2 in New York City.

ESPN’s Pass Track, CBS’ SwingVision, NBC’s Virtual Flags and Stromotion have been nominated in the Outstanding Innovative Technical Achievement category of the 26th Annual Sports Emmy Awards.

The category is one of 27 in which the best television sports production, talent, technology and shows are judged and recognized for excellence.

The Sports Emmys are given to sports broadcasters and industry professionals in categories such as: Outstanding Live Event Turnaround; Outstanding Camera Work; and Outstanding Live Event Audio/Sound.

The National Television Academy announced its list of nominees March 9 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

The awards will be presented May 2 during a special ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center located in the Time Warner Center in New York City.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Chet Simmons, former president of NBC Sports and ESPN. The National Television Academy also will honor Phil Knight, co-founder and chairman of Nike, for his contributions to the quality and growth of sports television.
