Registration is open for the North American Broadcasters Association's event, "Go Beyond Broadcasting". Panels will touch on spectrum issues, new distribution technology and content protection April 4-5 in Los Angeles.

The organization's members are from Canada, Mexico and the United States.

In "Broadcast Spectrum Under Attack," panelists will discuss wireless communications that promise service opportunities for portable and home devices, and how broadcasters must pay attention in order to protect existing services. The panel chair is Dr. Joseph Flaherty, senior VP of technology at CBS.

Presentations also include "Broadcast and the RF Spectrum Puzzle," "Unlicensed Operation in the Broadcast Bands," "Ultra-Wideband," "Preparing for the World Communication Conference" and "Impact of Interference."

Other panels are "Untraditional Broadcasting" and "Content Protection and Emerging New Business Models."

NABA is a non-profit association of broadcasting organizations. The keynote speaker on April 5 is slated to be Donna Gregg, chief of the FCC's Media Bureau.
