Marshall Electronics offers 3G-SDI portable monitors

For those looking for 1080p 50/60 playback capability, Marshall Electronics is now shipping two new portable monitors that natively display 3Gb/s Serial Digital Interface (3G-SDI) signals. The V-LCD651ST-3GSDI and V-LCD70P-3GSDI Triple Rate 3G/HD/SD models are the latest addition to the company’s line of portable field monitors.

The new series of 6.5in and 7in LCD monitors offer 3Gb/s SDI, HD-SDI (1.5Gb/s single and dual link), SD-SDI, HDMI, and component inputs. The 3Gb/s standard is backwards compatible with existing SD and HD infrastructures using 75-ohm coaxial cable. The new camera-top monitors incorporate a 3Gb/s multirate SDI receiver.

More Marshall monitors offering 3Gb/s SDI will be available later this year in a variety of sizes and configurations.

The V-LCD70P-3GSDI is a new 7in monitor, weighing only 1.3 pounds. It features a completely digital TFT-MegaPixel high resolution LCD screen with 1.2 million pixels, four-pin XLR power jack, and optical grade polycarbonate screen protection. Analog signals are digitized using 10-bit processing with 4X oversampling and adaptive five-line comb filter. A variety of battery adapters are available for each configuration.

The V-LCD651ST-3GSDI is a 6.5in portable field/camera-top monitor, designed or outdoor applications with high ambient light. The technology minimizes surface reflection of both outdoor and indoor light, while featuring a much wider color reproduction range than typical transflective/reflective LCDs or even those with increased backlight performance.

Marshall's outdoor super-transmissive LCDs provide improved visibility by producing high-contrast images and a wider viewing angle, even under diverse and challenging lighting environments. The technology also increases the efficiency of the LCD backlight's light utilization, while maintaining extended temperature ratings and low power consumption for outdoor operation.
