LRS Sports Technology supplies schools with video coaching gear

All 10 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schools have received a network video shooting and editing technology package for sports programs from LRS Sports Technology. The schools are set to begin using the video technology this summer.

Each network package includes a server, two laptop computers, video editing software, a video camera with accessories and a training tutorial. Each school also receives annual support for the equipment. LRS Sports, which provides video coaching and analysis to athletic departments, signed a five-year deal with the SWAC schools.

LRS Sports technology allows the live recording and quick editing of game footage with automatic tagging of plays. Cut ups of plays enable multilayered filtering and customized data. Coaches can sort, filter and get quick stats from the data. Files can be easily played back and the system allows drawing and creation of text over the video. DVDs can be quickly burned from the system as well.

This is the first conference-wide technology installation for SWAC. The president’s council of SWAC researched LRS Sports technology several years prior to the purchase.

SWAC is composed of 10 member schools from five states and sponsors 18 sports for both men and women. The member schools are Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Alcorn State, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Grambling State, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State, Prairie View A&M, Southern and Texas Southern.
