LIN TV Revamps Online With FIM
By TVB Staff published
Fox Interactive Media (FIM) has struck a deal with LIN TV Corp. to create new Web sites for the Rhode Island-based broadcaster’s stations. FIM will act as the digital publishing partner for LIN, providing front- and back-end publishing solutions to the broadcaster based on FIM’s “MyFOX local” platform. WPRI-TV in Providence, R.I., and WALA-TV in Mobile, Ala., were the first LIN TV stations to move to the FIM platform, and other LIN station Web sites are slated to transition in the coming weeks. The FIM platform allows the LIN TV local Web sites to offer several new features, including a new video player and weather features, “Map This” programming, social networking tools, a centralized content management system that allows for sharing between markets, customized news delivery and user engagement tools. “The usability of our new station Web sites has enhanced significantly, the technology and flexibility are far superior and we will have better control and more opportunities to monetize our Web sites,” stated Robb Richter, LIN TV senior vice president new media. LIN TV is the first third-party digital publishing partner for FIM.
