Harris Names Dougall VP of Infrastructure and Networking for Broadcast

Harris Corp. has named Dave Dougall vice president of Infrastructure and Networking for Harris Broadcast Communications.

In this new role, Dougall will oversee the strategic direction of the infrastructure and networking organization, with a particular focus on expanding the networking business in international markets. He is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Dougall was vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Harris Broadcast Communications since Harris acquired Leitch Technology in 2005.

"Dave has achieved considerable growth for our business in EMEA and significantly increased Harris market share in the region over the last three years," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. "In this new role, Dave will be applying his extensive experience in international markets to developing our networking business in regions outside the United States."

Prior to joining Leitch Technology, Dougall worked for 10 years at Sony, starting as a research and development engineer leading the development of standards converters. In a product management role at Sony, he was instrumental in the strategic launch of D-2 tape machines in the United Kingdom before finally serving as system sales manager for the UK.

Dougall holds a first honours degree in communications and electronic engineering from Napier University in Edinburgh.
