‘Good Morning America’ adds third hour
By TVTechnology published
ABC expanded “Good Morning America” Sept. 4 to three hours — two broadcast traditionally and a third available via its subscription-based “ABC News Now” broadband Internet and mobile phone service.
Estimates place the number of “ABC News Now” users at about 28 million; the service is available as a cable TV channel that reaches a small number of homes.
Broadband delivery of the third hour allows the network to expand its “Good Morning America” presence while not interfering with the morning programming schedules of its affiliates.
