Fox affiliate pulls broadcast signal from Time Warner

KAYU-TV, the Fox affiliate in Spokane, WA, has pulled its broadcast signal from Time Warner Cable systems in three states. The station had demanded that Time Warner pay cash to retransmit its signal. The parties were unable to come to terms.

The station’s owner, Northwest Broadcasting, told viewers it awaits a fair offer from Time Warner Cable. Time Warner argues that paying retransmission fees would lead to higher bills for its subscribers.

On Dec. 14, KAYU turned off its broadcast feed in more than 25,000 Time Warner subscriber homes in Pullman, WA; Libby, MT; and Coeur d’Alene and Moscow, ID.
