DirecTV Taps Initial Two Dozen HD Markets

Beginning in April, DirecTV will roll out the first of the 24 new markets where the DBS firm plans to start offering local broadcast HD programming from the four major commercial networks: ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. DirecTV said in a statement that subs with the proper HD receiving equipment who sign on for program packages that includes local channels will also receive the four local HD signals in their respective markets at no extra charge.

DirecTV's first 24 local HD markets in alphabetical order include:
