Changes at the Top for BE

In the wake of the retirement of John Pedlow, the board of directors of Broadcast Electronics Inc. (BE) announced last week the appointment of Joseph W. Roark as CEO of the company, effective immediately.

Roark joins Broadcast Electronics after having served as president of four Weir Group PLC companies and two Danaher companies. Roark and his family will relocate from Salt Lake City to Quincy, Illinois, where BE is headquartered.

"This is an exciting time to be in broadcasting, and with BE in particular. We are just beginning to realise technology changes in radio that will endure for the next generation. BE is in a unique market leadership position to impact the future success of radio", Roark said.

Pedlow is retiring after eight years at the helm of BE. He will remain as an advisor to the company.

"Joe's experience and energy add significantly to Broadcast Electronics. I have confidence in his abilities and the capabilities of BE's management team to continue moving the company forward", Pedlow stated.
