Broadcast Pix Switches for Red Wings

Broadcast Pix was behind the scenes when Time Warner Cable picked up Rochester Red Wings games for its regional sports cabler.
The Burlington, Mass., concern specializes in small-footprint, multifunction switchers such as the Slate 2100, which the Red Wings tech team uses to produce their game coverage. Jeff Coltoniak is the director of production for the Red Wings, a farm team for the Minnesota twins, located in Rochester, N.Y. He said the switcher provides the right combination of standards compliance and features he requires for game-day telecasts.
The Slate 2100 is on the top end of the Broadcast Pix line, which consists of switchers that control cameras, CG, still- and clipstore, DVE and other functions from a single workstation.
