Big Ten Network deploys Panasonic P2 HD cameras

The Big Ten Network has invested in multiple Panasonic P2 HD camcorders to handle field production assignments at the 11 campuses throughout the conference, as well as production and promotion at the network’s Chicago headquarters.

As the first nationally distributed TV network dedicated to covering the collegiate conference, the Big Ten Network is now available to more than 75 million homes across the United States and Canada.

The network has purchased AJ-HPX2000 2/3in three-CCD camcorders, AG-HPX170 solid-state handhelds, AG-HVX200 handhelds, AJ-HPM110 P2 mobile HD field recorder/players, AG-PCD20P five-slot memory drives, and BT series HD production monitors.

Covering approximately 350 live sports events a year, nearly all of them in HD, the Big Ten Network is based in Chicago and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The network showcases a wide array of live events and studio shows, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer and wrestling.

The Big Ten Network is a joint venture between subsidiaries of the Big Ten Conference and Fox Cable Networks.
