Lawo To Highlights Dynamic Media Facility Support At IBC 2026

RASTATT, Germany—Lawo will feature the latest additions to its HOME ecosystem as well as the European debut of Edge One, the company’s latest software release for the mc² production console family and Power Core during IBC 2026, Sept. 11-14, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.

The company will also showcase a live implementation of its Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) approach.

Together, the innovations show how broadcasters, production companies and media organizations can increase operational agility, maximize infrastructure utilization and adapt resources dynamically to changing production demands.

The company’s HOME management and orchestration platform enables device discovery, security, authentication and control across IP-based media infrastructures. Combined with HOME Apps, Lawo’s portfolio of server-based processing microservices, HOME allows processing resources to be deployed, scaled and reassigned wherever they are needed independent of dedicated hardware.

A key highlight will be Lawo’s live demonstration of Dynamic Media Facilities, showcasing how broadcasters can dynamically allocate processing resources across studios, central facilities, remote-production environments and hybrid infrastructures. Lawo will demonstrate a working production environment showing its software-based dynamic media facilities are a practical reality today.

It will also highlight a technology collaboration with Grass Valley focused on validating orchestration, control and media exchange integration between Grass Valley AMPP and Lawo HOME, both aligned with an open system approach and the EBU Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) initiative.

The company will also unveil two new HOME Apps dedicated to graphics processing. Designed for broadcasters, live production facilities and media infrastructure operators, the applications expand HOME’s capabilities beyond signal processing and orchestration into branding, graphics compositing and real-time broadcast presentation.

Lawo will also make the European trade show introduction of Edge One, a new approach to audio and video connectivity for broadcast and Pro AV applications. Combining video, audio, networking and processing capabilities in a compact platform, Edge One makes edge connectivity more flexible while reducing equipment footprint, cabling complexity and deployment effort.

The platform combines bi-directional SDI connectivity, HDMI, MADI, USB-C audio, GPIO, synchronization interfaces and interchangeable audio I/O modules in a single device. User-swappable modules allow rapid adaptation for studio, venue, remote-production, flypack or commentary applications.

As a native SMPTE ST 2110 platform supporting up to 25 Gbps network bandwidth, Edge One integrates seamlessly into modern IP infrastructures while also serving as a standalone solution for audio embedding, de-embedding, shuffling and signal transport workflows. Supporting Lawo FLEX, Edge One is available in Audio, Video, and Audio + Video configurations.

Lawo will also show its mc² Software Release 12.4, delivering workflow enhancements for live production and broadcast applications. New capabilities include Real-Time Analyzer support for signal analysis and visual feedback, zoom module pop-ups for improved touch operation, enhanced third-party input-stage control through a new HOME data model, external channel preset recall via Ember+, sample-based delay adjustment for finer timing precision and API-key authentication for secure MCX-to-HOME connectivity. The company will also preview mc² Release 12.6.

The company will highlight its latest Power Core software release, which adds support for the Lawo OnAir Designer and introduces a new five-band equalizer featuring four parametric bands plus an additional filter band.
