Fox Sports recently implemented the AJA Kona 2 technology for producing baseball packages during the end of season games.
"AJA is very excited to be part of the World Series," said John Abt, president of AJA Video Systems. Fox has been using the Kona 2 720p DVCPRO HD workflow on an Apple G5 with Final Cut Pro HD for editing.
Operators natively capture the 720p HD-SDI video and AES audio directly from the production trucks through a router and into the Panasonic 720p DVCPRO HD codec in the Final Cut Pro. The data is then sent through the Kona card to the router where it can be used for instant replay or sent directly on-air.
Fox also used the Kona workflow for post production editing of the World Series' pre-game shows.
