Terayon helps telcos deliver SD, HD video services to IPTV subscribers

Terayon’s DM 6400 IPTV Network CherryPicker helps telcos deliver reliable, high-quality SD and HD video services to their IPTV customers with features such as support for MPEG-4 AVC video and digital program insertion based on SCTE standards.

The system features a unified architecture that handles both MPEG-4 AVC and MPEG-2 SD and HD content seamlessly. Programs can also be formatted for IP multicast to the home or for HFC networks that require a QAM-ready multiplex.

The system also includes two GigE I/O cards with content aggregation capabilities that provide high network efficiency and robust transport. It can ingest ASI streams of up to 200Mb/s per input and convert to GigE, and vice versa, for integration with satellite receivers, video servers and legacy content sources.

The DM 6400 IPTV is easily configurable and controlled via browser-based GUI. A distributed network of DM 6400s can be remotely configured and controlled from a centralized management console.
