Telegenic turns to Axon for compact router

Axon Digital Design has supplied compact routing equipment to UK-based outside broadcast production company Telegenic for use in its T14 high-definition mobile production truck to be used primarily for sports coverage.

The truck has a large, 19.6ft-deep, expandable videotape area, which normally would require the capacity of two vans. The AXON NV8288 high-density video router reduced Telegenic’s space requirement from what was previously more than an entire equipment rack for handling digital video signals to a 10RU box with 5RU for the external power supplies.

The NV8288 gives Telegenic the ability to mix SD and HD signals at the same router level and without the need for tie lines or complex control systems.

Telegenic also incorporated the NV7512 audio router. The router combines analog audio, AES digital audio and MADI multiplexed digital audio to provide a powerful solution in a compact 14RU frame.
