Tektronix Upgrades WFM700 Video Monitor

Tektronix has upgraded its WFM700 series of video waveform monitors to include multi-axis display of surround-sound audio that shows audio levels, total sound volume, phantom sound sources and the dominant sound source that enables users to adjust surround-sound audio.

Other features include the new automated measurement of six eye pattern parameters, including rise and fall overshoot, plus a histogram of eye pattern signal levels, that help engineers detect physical signal problems.

"With the latest enhancements, the industry-leading WFM700 further assists customers in avoiding revenue loss due to video and audio quality problems and reduces operating expenses associated with achieving and maintaining desired content quality," said Todd Biddle, vice president, video product line at Tektronix.

All new units will ship with this firmware and existing customers who already have the WFM700 models can download a free upgrade from the Tektronix Web site.
