Tektronix Announces New Network Monitoring Equipment

Beaverton, Ore.-based test, measurement and monitoring manufacturer, Tektronix, has announced the release of two new products designed to assist broadcast, cable and telco operators detect and resolve customer-impacting problems across their IP networks.

One of the products, the VQNet Video Service Assurance Manager, presents key information about networks via an intuitive user interface engineered to provide easy to understand information for operators. The application can display video thumbnails from multiple points within the network and can backhaul video and audio from any probe in that network. VQNet also supports the Tektronix RFM 8-VSB probe for ATSC transmission and ingest monitoring.

The other new tool is the IPM400A network probe. It can monitor as many as 500 IP sessions and all associated essential parameters, including IP packet inter-arrival time and TS errors.

The company is taking orders for its VQNet software and IPM400A probe, with delivery scheduled for the last quarter of 2009.
