Sundance Digital Titan automation to power NAB-HD station

The NAB-HD station will return to this year’s show delivering signals to HD displays around the Las Vegas Convention Center. HD and SD transmission will be available via the building’s cable system and reach more than 75,000 hotel rooms with an SD feed.

Sundance Digital’s multichannel Titan automation will mark its second year at the heart of NAB-HD, managing the schedule of on-air broadcasts as well as controlling the video server and master control room devices.

Sundance Digital will supply a six-channel Titan automation solution, as well as the manpower for setup. The company also will make support staff available during the event for assistance as needed. Titan is a scalable, broadcast automation solution designed to control as many as hundreds of channels from a single facility or remotely manage playlists at multiple remote locations.

At NAB2006, Titan will drive an Omneon Video Networks video server. The Sundance Digital configuration also will include Intelli-Sat Schedule & Recording Manager and Sundance Archive Manager interfaced to Masstech’s MassStore to maximize storage.

Output of the NAB-HD studio will include interviews with industry leaders, numerous topical roundtable discussions, news spots from the conferences and exhibit halls and aerial views of the proceedings taken from the NAB-HD helicopter. In addition, new technology will be used to demonstrate how readily content can be repurposed and distributed via mobile delivery.
