Silicon Graphics to Debut PFRestore at NAB2006
Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) will debut several new products and showcase the Sony SXRD 4K projector on the main stage area at NAB2006.
Making its debut on the new Silicon Graphics Prism visualization system will be PFRestore, The Pixel Farm's new digital restoration system for 4K digital cinema remastering. The next-gen Silicon Graphics Prism uses a 64-bit Linux system with a blade design that allows users to configure any combination of blades including CPUs, coprocessors, memory, storage, I/O and graphics.
Silicon Graphics will also showcase its SGI InfiniteStorage 6700 storage system, a next generation 4Gb Fibre Channel high-performance storage system that provides 2.5 GBps throughput and meets the media requirements for SAN-based digital content infrastructure.
Silicon Graphics will also use SGI Media Fusion technology to illustrate collaborative management demonstrations on the main stage.
